In the spring of 2008, with zero sewing experience, we constructed the first (raw) prototype on a borrowed sewing machine. Nonetheless, for the Holstee pocket and the shirt, it was love at first stitch.

After seeing the initial prototype, "Mamanjoon" - the worlds sweetest grandmother - offered some light improvements and helped to sew the first professional looking sample.

Aware of the amazing work of Muhammad Yunus and the potential impact of micro-lending, we made the decision to include the developing world into our business model. We realized, as individuals, what we could lend was limited to what was in our pocket but together as an organization uniting people around the world the potential impact became limitless.

Despite full time "9-5" jobs, we were determined to make a small round of Holstee's. The positive energy of Holstee was contagious. With an overwhelming positive response, it was time to make moves. Brothers Dave and Mike took a chance to live their dream, and quit their jobs, despite a struggling economy, to work full time on Holstee.

Today, Holstee continues to grow with the help of its many fans and contributors. We hope your Holstee t-shirt is a constant reminder to live your dream, and wear your passion.

Our style is simple, functional, and unique.

We love to combine the comfort and practicality of jersey fabric with louder, nostalgic, woven-fabrics that remind us of certain times, places, and dreams.

We are designing innovation.

From our original Holstee T-shirt to our FIN each product has been designed out of necessity. We have lots more ideas for products that add functionality to daily casual wear. In addition to innovating in design, we are constantly researching to push the limits of innovation in our production practices and selection of raw materials. There is always room for improving, and we plan on doing just that.

It is about more than clothes.

We touch clothing all day, we wanted to design clothing that touched us. In addition to looking and feeling great we hope your Holstee gear is a reminder to take back your life and seize every moment.

  Holstee is a product of Incubaker, a New York City based innovation lab.

Through the launch of Holstee, the Incubaker team has sought to create the model for sustainable business practices. Driving social causes through a profit-driven model, Incubaker looks to drive innovation, fashion, and sustainability through Holstee.

Dave and Mike lead the Holstee project with support of their family, friends and of course, their fellow Incubakers: Thianh, and Fabian.
