Holstee Reflection Cards for Kids are designed to help children age 6 and up and their caregivers go far beyond “How was school today?” and the one-word responses that usually follow.

Similar to the original Holstee Reflection Cards, each card offers two questions: an icebreaker with a fun and funny prompt to warm things up and on the opposite side a deeper question that requires just the right amount of vulnerability and introspection.

The story behind the Reflection Cards for Kids.

This product’s journey began the moment our original Reflection Cards landed in the hands of a curious 9-year-old named Shireen (Mike and Dave’s niece). Shireen loved using the cards to ask questions and share her responses with friends and family. She also had some great feedback for us, while she loved the questions, but not all of them were perfect for kids.

We began asking every kid we knew about the best questions to ask other kids. We also asked their parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, teachers, and older siblings, too. ;-)

Kid tested, expert approved.

Then came the hard work of narrowing down our excellent list of questions to make sure only the best questions remained.

To be certain that every question speaks the language of today’s kids, we enlisted two breakout leaders in the mindful parenting movement: Hannah and Kelty of Upbringing.co. With their guidance, we tweaked the questions until each one was pitch-perfect for young and curious minds.

The cards are printed with the world's leading playing card producer, the United States Playing Card Company based in Kentucky, USA. They have been perfecting the quality of their cards since they started printing in 1867 and produce some of the highest quality cards in the world including Bicycle® and Hoyle® playing cards.

We also chose them for their dedication to minimizing the environmental effects of their production. Our playing cards are crafted from sustainably forested paper, starch-based laminating glue, and vegetable-based printing inks. At the end of their long life, the cards are also recyclable.
